In addition to showing for the first time in Japan the new CX-5 , the Japanese firm also comes with a prototype of a sedan. Called Taker, this concept could give us an idea of what could be the next generation of the Mazda 6.
The Japanese automaker remains true to its credo of "the soul in motion" because it has decided to include this concept as a theme for the Tokyo Motor Show in "Technology & Environment, pushing the limits of the emotion aroused by the movement. "
The Taker Concept therefore takes the design language called Kodo, which opened on the study Shinari . The sedan adopts a sporty four-door coupe, driven through the various lines of force which mark the wheel.
The large grille is surrounded by a silver border, which leads to the headlamps stretched almond-shaped, to give a little more character to this new concept.
As is the case for future models of the manufacturer, the Taker Concept adopts SKYACTIV engine technologies .
The prototype system is also equipped with energy recovery during braking called i-ELOOP, which converts kinetic energy into electricity during deceleration and stores this energy in super-capacitors and used to power electrical accessories the vehicle and save the alternator. This would improve fuel consumption by about 10%.
This braking technology is associated with the new 2.2 diesel engine SKYACTIV-D, a 6-speed automatic transmission SKYACTIV-DRIVE, start & stop system house (i-stop), but also to new technologies relief, aerodynamic Mazda chassis and to maximize fuel economy.
Engine performance were not disclosed, but the manufacturer claims "excellent consumption figures lined with exceptional performance."
